hi,I have a tank full of tiger barbs and green barbs. one day I look in the tank and I see a green tiger barb's fins are niped and hes looking kinda bad. He doesn't eat or do anything...can anyone tell me what happen to him and what should I do?
Not without more information...sorry, we're not psychic. Chances are good that either he was on the verge of getting sick or seen as the weakest one and couldn't hold up to the pestering of the other tiger barbs. TB's are notorious fin nippers.
I agree with Punkrock. Like most animals, there is a "pecking order". Those that show signs of weakness, either by injury or disposition will become a "target" for others.
most likely he got into a fight with a tiger barb higher up the rankings then he is, the higher tiger barb probably wanted to teach him a lesson, if it is not too bad he could still make it and get back into the tiger barbs 'gang'
