Ahhhhh! What happened?!

I woke up this morning and noticed Gordon, my beautiful Guppy, was stuck to my filter intake and is now dead I'm absolutely gutted, he was like a beautiful drag queen!

All his colour was gone and he was part skeleton! I've had the tank for near on a month and this has never happened before, can it be that powerful?! Is there anything I can do or is it a one off?

ouch. that's awful. what is the filter name? you will be better of with HOB type of filters.

I know, not very nice at all!

It came with my Aqua One 620 Fish tank, it's a Powerhead 620 220v-240v 50Hz 7.5w

I don't know if that means anything?

powerheads are not good for guppies or tetras, atleast in my opinion. check for HOB and see if you can replace your filter with that.

I think some superfish user can help you more . i havent really kept guppies.

I've kept guppies and my favorite guppy was sucked into my HOB filter (which really isn't even that powerful for the tank I have.) He was dismembered and he died. You can always get an HOB filter and put an aquarium-safe sponge filter end on the intake tube.

I would doubt that filter killed him. More likely he died and the body was pulled to the intake of the filter over time.

that has worked well enough for me. no more fish dying at the hands of a filter
