I know, it's been a long time since my last post but I really have not needed any help. The advice I got here years ago got me on my way without any trouble.

But I am back with a new question.

Recently I added a round air bubble stone to the bottom of my tank. The bubbles come up through the rocks and IMO looks really cool!

In the past few days I noticed my fish hanging out by the air bubbles. Swimming in them or around them not really moving just swimming in one spot. I looked under the rock and saw 2 of my fish just above the stone. Ok so I think they like the bubbles? Well I also noticed my Red tail sharks would go up to my Cichlids and it looked like they were cleaning them. Yes the Cichlids would move to one side and let the sharks nibble on them. After 5 seconds or so the cichlids had enough and would swim off. The shark would go his own way, sometimes to a new Cichlid who would also let them nibble on them.

I thought this was cool, nature working together... As I looked closer at my Cichlids I noticed small air bubbles on them. So I am guessing the sharks were taking these off? Too much fun in the air bubbles? I went from a tank that chased each other around to a happy tank? Too much oxygen to their brain? (J/K, I think) Anyway they swim in the air bubble current and seem to like it but maybe they have parasites? Sharks eating them off? I don't know. I did add some new fish so...

They all seem healthy and having fun but instead of guarding their real estate around the rocks they seem to just want to spend time at the amusement park.

It was a huge change IMO, enough for me to notice the attitude in my tank changed and they were not acting like they have been for several years. Sure they chase but not like they use too. Not a one wants to give up his time in the bubbles.

On the other hand some of my peacocks don’t seem to care.
