Air pump and live plants?

I have an air pump with an airstone in my 20 gallon, and I also have a few live plants. Is it okay to have live plants and an air stone in a tank?

NOt really, Live plants need CO2 and O, right? There is usually enouhg O in the tnak, but when the air pump makes bubbles at the surface it is letting CO2 also out of the aquarium, they are not a very good idea if you have plants

A lot of surface agitation, thus your airstone causes the loss of CO2 which plants take in the daytime or nightime? I dont remember, but your filter will most likely cause enough agitation for air exchange keep your tank supplied with fresh oxygen and so will the plants. So unless your tank is overstocked keep the airstone, but if not its not needed and i would lose it.
