Air Pump

man i got a Whisper air pump the 10g one...

it hella suxs...

on the box it says Quiet (far from that...it vibrates and make a horrible loud rumble sound...)

and it doesnt even come with a tube...

it is not necessary to use an air pump on a SW tank.

I'd take it back to the store and get a replacement. The Whisper brand is usually very quiet.

no its just me...its really fine it was just that it vibrates and makes a rumble...guess i expected too much out of it.

Sometimes it helps to put the airpump on a soft surface like a piece of carpet or a facecloth to dampen the vibrations. Even then, the bubbles themselves are fairly noisy.

yeah it does but im also going to put styrofoam or cork materal on it since cork is used to control sound.

quick question wat does the check valve do? and do i need one?

it keeps water from going back into the pump incase of a power outtage. you dont need one if the pump is above the tank level.

well i bought it say y not...the tank is on a stand and its pretty isolated...and dont wat to put the pump on top of the tank now...so this $1.70 investment was soo bad =/
