I was at the local pet shop yesterday and saw the buble stones and air pumps? Are these needed in a fresh water tank? I have a good filter. The man working there at that time had no idea about fish tanks and taking care of them.
airstones are for aesthetic purposes really, they provide little/no aeration to the tank. If you are looking to better oxygenate the tank, surface agitation is reliable. Powerheads also do the trick. Some fish don't like current though
