Air stone not working

Hi, my mom just bought me a new air stone thing because my old one was algae-covered, and slightly disintegrated. She bought me a new one, 3-4 inches long- Except only the first 1.5-2 inches is the only part making the air bubbles! I got my dad to cram the air tube on it, because it wasn't on very good at first (probably because I was the one that put the air stone on the air tube haha ). This didn't help, either. I figured maybe it would air itseld our and start making nice bubble curtains in my tank, but... It hasn't! This happened about 2 or 3 days ago. Is my air pump not strong enough or something?
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Oops, actually it was more like 4-5 inches, and only the first 1-2 inches are working.

It could be that your pump isn't strong enough, especially if it's a small pump. The other possibility is that you have a leak in the airline tubing or a poor seal on either end of the tubing.

The other possibility is that the airstone is too deep in the tank for the size of pump. If you move it closer to the surface, you may get more bubbles.

it may just be a defect. just buy another ther relativly cheap

Wouldn't I hear hissing if there was a leak in the tube? I don't know. It is a small pump. And probably just a defect. Any more suggestions are welcome.

I had one from walmart. You stuck it in few inches in and worked. Stuck it all the way to rocks nothing..You could like angel it sidways and see if it flows I just thought not enough power to go down there.
