albino sharks acting strange

i just put some lettuce i got out of my backyard in my tank after washing it (without soap) and now all you see it the albino shark trying to and eating the lettuce it was ment for the algae eater so now i have to remove it every four hours (i don't know why but i read that ur suppose to) so he can eat some more and i will see if the algae eater eats any. is this strange

Nope, it's normal.
You can leave lettus in for about 24 hours without problems.
