algae clean up

i have some nice brown algae on my glass, i wipe it down when i water change, but i always miss a huge spot somwhere.

are there any sort of an algae eating fish i can mix with my assorted africans?

How big is your tank? provided it is larg enough, a pleco could be good. Other options are an apple or mystery snail. The good news is, that any fish that eats algae, in my experience, will eat brown algae.

One other thing: How long has the tank been set up? It isn't uncommon for new tanks to have brown algae outbreaks, and spontaneously clear up as it matures.

about a month and a half ago i did a complete empty of the tank though, drained the water, sucked out the gravel, and put in argonite substrate.

perhaps it will go away on its own? maybe i will wait awhile longer, i dont really want to have a pleco in there. to me it just wouldnt look right.
