i have a bad problem with algae in my 90 gal cichlid tank, i need to know what algae eater i can get, i have two Synodontis cats, one is a rare sucker mouth cat but he does not eat algae, so i need one that they will not bother and one that preferably has good coloration but i need one that can hold its own, my biggest cichlid is a red empress and he is about three inches, any help would be awesome

Hmm, I don't know if the Synodontis cats would bother a pleco, but you could try to get a common or the larger species of plecos. They are also known as Plecostomus.

The only pleco that i've ever had acctually eat algae is a Bristle Nose. MIGHT could hold its own...but i'd still be a bit worried. I'd find out whats causing the algae problem and try and fix it rather then use a very messy pleco just adding to the bioload in the tank.
