I have some sort of green algea in my tank. Its only on certain parts of the live rock but I don't know what kind it is. Is this bad? If so how do I get rid of it?

I am wondering if it is hair algea? I think that is a normal phase of a new tank. I had an incredible amount of it growing on the glass for about 2 weeks, but it's clearing up now and is almost completely gone. I have an emerald crab that ate a good bit of it as well as the margarita and astrea snails.

I notice you don't have any glass or rock cleaning snails......is your sig up to date? Good choices would be Astrea and/or margarita snails.

But yes, a pic would help determine exactly what it is. Does it look like a plant?

Yeah my sig's up to date, but the pet store around here only has nassasuris snails, turbo snails, and I think its called the crown conch snail. I can't get good pics because my camera doesn't allow me to get good pics on here. The algea is green and looks very slimy. My one hermit crab is eating a little of it, and its spreading semi-fast. Theres not much of it, and its only on a little of my sand, but most of it is on my LR.

Also would I be able to get a firefish or some type of coral ( of course not in the same week/month ) anytime soon? If so what kind of coral could I get?
