Looking for help in identifying the algae that is growing in my 75 gallon freshwater tank. This algae began growing after having the java moss balls in my tank (big mistake, wish I never put those things in my tank). Anyhow, would appreciate any assistance in ID this algae, as well as recommendations on how to get rid of it. Thanks in advance

See the algae here:

Not sure what a 'java moss ball' is...

Anyway, the URL posted is asking me to register on that site to view your pictures. Do you have a way to post them without that process? When I chose not to register, and closed the website, it sends several pop-up ads to try to get me to register. Very annoying.

Hmm, I have that too growing on my Amazon Sword. And I think you're talking about Java Moss, people just sell them in clumps tied with a rubberband, therefore a "ball". Java Moss, if anything, would get rid of algae, or at leasdt slows down the growth (heard this from numberous websites). My Otos started clearing off that algae as soon as I put them in the tank.

*Sorry for anything that's misspelled. I'm cold, can't feel my finghers and I don't feel like taking time to go bacjk and change everything.

Unless you want to keep more algae eating fish, it would be better to prevent the algae. You have an imbalance in light, CO2 and other nutrients.

You mentioned a 'java moss ball' earlier. Do you keep other plants? What type of lights do you have, what watts, and how long is your photoperiod? What is your water change schedule like? Do you have readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
