i've got bright green, threadlike algae all over my tank, especially on hte back wall and plastic plants. it's not so much on the front and frankly i don't find it unattractive, it's kind of neat the way it sways in the water currents.

i know that some types of algae are harmful and others are just fine - can anyone tell me what type of algae this is? and more importantly - should i try to get rid of it? or can i just leave it alone :)

nope, it's not near a window, at most sunlight might hit it for half an hour a day, but probably not (i've never seen sunlight hit it, and i've been up all hours of the morning and night since i work shiftwork). i think i'll leave it alone..
