I have this neon green algea starting to form slowly on the glass, close to the edges of the corners and along the rim of the sand, where it meets the glass. My magnet scrapper cannot seem to remove it alone. A sharp edge scrapper helps. However, it forms immediately later withing a day or two. Any suggestions as to how to maintain this?

are you trying to get rid of it? or keep it?

if you are trying to get rid of it i dont think there is much to be done other than find the source of the algae (phosphates, nitrates, etc)...as far as temporary removal, a straight razor is the thing to use

if you are trying to keep it then i suppose stop scraping
