They'll work. I used fluorescent bulbs on this hood, back when I had it. I recommend the colormax though.

All types of bulbs/light encourage algae growth. You'll just have to find a balance between lighting and nutrients in the water.

I posted in your other thread as well but figured this link may help you understand why actinic 50/50 bulbs are not the best idea, even though I see you are going with the colormax instead of 50/50.
Controlling Algae Growth - Rate My Fish Tank

When I set up my 90G native tank that is using a 260w pc light I was using 130w daylight and 130 actinic, within days I had a tremendous amount of algea, I switched out to using the full 260 in daylights and havent had a problem with algea since then.
