Almost black?

#1
I have two red peacocks in my tank and one is the original color, but the other one is almost a black blood red. I was wondering if that meant they wanted to mate. And also like five minutes ago I moved some plants trying to get my dead PN pleco out of the tank. He finally bit the dust. I really want to know if this is a sign they want to mate. The one being so dark I mean.

Peacocks show Sexual Dimorphism, meaning the male is different then the female in color. Males have color, females are usually a very drab brown and without the finnage. If they both show color i doubt you have a female out of the two so they won't mate. One is probably sub dominant and getting bullied by the other, making it turn dark in stress to hide. If i had to guess anyway.
