I can't really tell if he's alive or dead but i'm saying dead ,his shell is just floating in the water and it's been at least a week since it started floating ;-; I liked this little snail he survived my snail eating moster betta,a buncha snail eating mollies at the lps and a hole in the bag i bought him home in.

R.I.P little dude you were awesome.

I think the little snail deserved this post he was a little fighter and the only snail i had.

have you thrown him away? if not smell him, if he smells hes dead, if not hes alive! My snail used to ALWAYS float and only search the tank at night.

snails do normally float for a long time. if there dead i thought they sunk to the bottom ??

Have you chucked him ?

i've moved him to a small half gallon tank in case he is alive.Also he usually never floats for longer then a day and he was sunk and then floated up i actually witnessed that.

o right. good that you kept him for abit. leave him there for maybe a few days you should know whether its dead by the smell. hope the little fella lives

The smell of a dead snail...it's true...absolutely horrid!
Barely get the snail above the surface of the water and you'll know right away whether or not it's dead. If it is, the foul odor will make you just about want to vomit.

DX thats makes me wanna check him less and less now,i'm still trying to think of weither to pay my mom a dollar to smell him or if i should myself.

Lol...just net him out onto a paper towel or something and hover your face over the counter and take a whiff. You can do this from several feet away---no need to kiss the snail or anything. If you're able to smell it, he's dead.

But I agree...making someone else smell a dead snail would be pretty funny. Just make sure you snap a photo of their face as they're sniffing at it.

well i got my mom to smell him LOL,and she said he did'nt stink after wards i checked him myself and she's right.So i guess no snail 6 feet under today.

Update:Snail was missing from his shell today ,He is Dead.
