I have a dozen Amano Shrimp in a tank that is becoming infested with little brown pond snails. The snails hijacked some plants and here they are through no plan of my own. I had YoYo loaches in this tank before and they ate all the snails up in no time flat, and would like to put more YoYos in here, but I am not sure if the Amano and them are incompatible.

I am not sure who would be the victim though. The YoYos I have in another tank are about the same size of the bodies of the shrimp. YoYos often lay down on the gravel on their sides when they are sleeping, and I think an opportunistic Amano shrimp may try to take a bite. I have also heard that botias will eat shrimp.

Has anybody successfully had Amano shrimp and YoYo loaches together without tragic results? I'd like to hear some stories. *PEACE!*

We've had ghost shrimp survive with clown loaches, so anything is possible. But if you really value the Amano's and can't get more, I wouldn't chance it. The yoyo's could make a quick snack of them. A great appitizer before feasting on snails :D

I know that bamboo shrimp would be ok. I have two in with 3 yoyo's, 2 clowns, and 3 dojo's :) They actually scare the loaches away when they go picking through the gravel. They are also really fun to watch and they're very active. Hth
