First, learn to grow plants. Second, learn art/aquascaping principles. Third, open up your wallet...wide!

Ok, so I'm not much help, but I did tell you the truth! Amano is a talented artist. Most of what you see in those pictures is photography; he's a very skilled photographer. There's a lot to learn in planted aquaria. Better start now. One of the best/fastest ways to learn is by joining a local plant club. You'll find most in the metro areas. Aside from that, read, read, and read some more.

study the pictures...pick the right plants and have the right equipment and just give it a shot.

his tanks were one of the reasons i got into this hobby.

one word "Awesome"! That pic of the discus tank is incredible. I wouldn't even attempt to try my hand at that, because I know it would look nothing like that
