Amazon Theme tank; plants?

Hmmm... Now i thought of everything lol, what kinds of plants are from the amazon? i relaly want the amazon look and i need to make a list of what kind of plants will be going in as well as fish

-Angelfish
-Corycatfish
-Cardinal tetra
-Rummy nose tetra
-German blue ram
-Discas
-Farlowella
-Hatchetfish
-Silverdollar


Many of them I know for sure are from the Amazon, others I'm not positive but I consoder them as such. I would also put other blackwater fish(Black Phantoms) in the same catagory unless you are really stricked.

ya swords are awesome i got a very large one in my 20G long tank it fits in perfect right in front of bubble wall etc

I am not sure but i think that some are and some are not, really depends on the species

For most amazonian biotopes there aren't any plants anyway except floaters and occasional swords - I believe dwarf sword carpets and so on are the exception rather than the rule. You're looking at driftwood whitewater and blackwater, rocks whitewater and backstreams with tree leaves on the base as the 4 most typical enviroments.

Do you think that even if i have the amazon theme with all the amazon fish that i could just do any kind of plant i want, because i find there are even prettier plants out there LOL? do u think it would look good, i do

Those first underwater pics are too spifferific, I'd love to have tanks that looked remotely like that!
