Ammonia Absorbing Media?

I was just curious if anybody has any experience with the White Diamond Ammonia absorbing media? My thinking is that... if I can reduce the amount of ammonia going into the nitrogen cycle, then I can reduce the amount of nitrates at the end. Does this work? Has anyone tried? Glad to hear everyone's opinions on this stuff! Thanks.

yes but if u remove all the ammonia, u destroy ur cycling process and kill alot of bacteria in the tank, so ur like uncycling ur tank, and killing off ur biofiltration which is the most important element. Ammonia killing bacteria is just another money ploy for lazy aquarists or to be used in severe conditions, possibly for hospital tank or temporary set up tanks for moving and such.

Jawz is right! Plus, once this media starts losing its effectivness, it may start doing the opposite (leaking ammonia back into the tank) or not reducing ammonia! Therefore you need to keep replacing it. Kind of expensive in the long run!
