So, I added ammonia last night up to about 5ppm, and it's almost time to add more today according to the guide that's available here. I checked the ammonia level just now, and it doesn't seem to have gone down at all, if any (hard to tell from the color chart). Do I still add the same amount of ammonia I added yesterday?

Reading Iggy's guide tells me that I should add the same amount that I added last night regardless of what the current ammonia level is. I just want to make sure the ammonia doesn't go way off the chart, but looking at some graphs of the cycle available on the Internet seem to suggest that the ammonia level is supposed to be linearly increased over a few days.. Is that right?

Hi borracho, you don't need to keep adding ammonia. Add it until it reaches 5ppm, then let it sit for 5-7 days, measure it again and check your nitrites. Check out the guide I have in the link below in my signature, that might help you out too.
