The ammonia levels seem to be consistently high in my cray tank despite water changes and treatments. What can I do and does the cray cause this?*SUNSMILE*

Sorry you sig wasn't showing up in this thread until you just posted.

I have read about this being a problem on other 10s with only a lobster/cray. Cut down on how much you feed him. A single feeder a week is more than enough food. And getting a better filter would help. They are messy creatures and he is obviously overloading what your filter can handle.

Ah I C..still messy creature. Most 10s have a puny filter on them. Not enough for this guy I'm afraid. You can just add a nice sized sponge filter to the tank, and that should help. Your nitrates are going to be pretty high though. Live plants can help with that tho.

I had quite the time trying to find any kind of floating plant. I went everywhere. Apparently I live in the black hole of aquarium supplies. I found one that really isn't a floating species but it's small and it floats now so until I can find out where to get some hornwort it will have to do.
