I have a 30 gal tank with a bala and redtail shark, and a blue gourami. Could I get a couple of Angels? My tank is in cycle mode right now, almost done though I believe, so when its complete I'm going to add to it.

The sharks get aggresive when old. I had one with with my angle who was well over 4 inches in length with no problems for several years and then woke up one day to find my angel dead due to the shark. So I'd watch that guy.

Most gourami's are known to be fin nippers, but I had real good luck with dwarf gourami's and angels in the past. Never had a blue, but I don't know that I'd chance it.

No you dont need to keep angels in pairs. But I really dont think you have room in the tank for an angel because of your existing fish. All of the fish you have get pretty big...as do angels. (even if they dont all get huge, they have huge territorial issues as they get bigger and big personalities. http://www.myfishtank.net/reviews/showproduct.php/product/168/sort/7/cat/6/page/1 bala shark profile. http://www.myfishtank.net/reviews/showproduct.php/product/140/sort/7/cat/6/page/1 RTBS profile. )

well, it really makes me mad, because at the pet store it said the min tank size for a bala was 30 gal...grr... so i guess my question would be, since I dont know anyone with a big tank... how do I get rid of my bala? ( I dont know if I can get a bigger tank, I'm going tank shopping tommorow, if i can afford it, I will, otherwise I'm getting something smaller for a gourami tank or dwarf cichlid tank) do pet store take back fish after you've had them for a few weeks?

also, the angelfish profile says 20 gal minimum and max size of an angelfish is 6 inches, I guess it would be too much to have 2 with the other fish I have in there? I dont know what to put in there with them.... :(

Just take the fish back to the store you got it from. Most will take them back even if you get nuffin in return.

Then after that you could try a pair but again might end up with territory issues (eventually). If the tank is a 30L it may or may not take a long time for the fish to decide they don't like each other but a 30L is safer than a 30 tall.
