angelfish polyp?

i just came home from being out all day and noticed that there looks like a polyp has grown on my angel fish. its white and sticks out from the side of the angel. is it what i think it is and what can i do to treat it? unfortunately i have to go back to college tomorrow so i need to tell my mom what to do asap! thanks!

hydra?! aw crap how in the world do you treat it? i'm gonna have to set up a hospital tank so i don't do more harm than good to my loaches...seems all the fish problems start happening when i have to leave after being home for a fricken month!
