I say Min 25gals for a pair. Maybe 20gal. I like to use the discus stocking rule with angels. 10gals per fish. 10gals is a good bit of space but thats what i personally like to have.

Any amount of them would be fine. It really depends on the aquarium. The size of your tank and it's other stock really determines how many you can have.

They are great fish, especially Wild Angels.

i always thought that it was 1 angel or 6+, because if you got just 2 or 3 one would make the other two miserable and may eventually kill them. I know that orion had 3 angels, then 1 of them turned nasty and killed the other 2. Anyhoo other than that cichlid man pretty much covered it, just dont keep them with tiger barbs, or any other over active fish like that, and no small tetras ( espeically neons ) ;)

Personally, I wouldnt keep an angel in anything less than a 29 gal. Like St. Anger said they can get quite big. I keep one in a 29 gal. and I have recently had to consider giving away my favorite fish (the angel) because the 29 gal. is looking a little small for her :(

Also I'd go with what barb said about 1 or 6+, a pair would work, try to get a male and female if you go with that option :)

Yes as they mature most will be teritorial with other angles in the same tank with them. I had started with 5 angles, and slowly one by one the largest picked them all off and now he is the only one left. I did however manage for a pretty long time with just three like barb said. Very beautiful and gracefull fish, just can be quite tempermental.
