so ill be setting up my 75g tomorrow and moving the discus, and then resetting up the 55g on the other side of the room.
well i have really been wanting angelfish since i got my discus and now i can have them. :) i was wanting rummynose and angelfish. i dont know what yet for the bottom.
so if i got a school of maybe 7-10 rummynose how many angels could i keep?
and is there a difference between personalities for veiledtailed and the normal one?

I would suggest you could fit 4 angels in the 55 unless they are huge - in which case perhaps 2 would be better. It doesn't seem many for a tank that size, but the more of a crowd you have in there, the less comfortable the fish will be. (The ammount of ornaments/decorations/plants you put in will also reduce swimming space - and the tetras like to have things to swim around and in and out of)

Watch out for those tetras in a "new" tank set up - they can be picky about water quality.

I got them from a fish shop which is a bit of a drive to get to, but its worth it with there selection of fishes, and the girl there gave me 11 rummynoses when she only charged me for 6 ! :D

heres a pretty good pic of 2 of them:

Ive got 11 rummy noses and 3 half moon angels in my 46gal, and other fish .. see sig.

I would say maybe 10 rummynoses and 4 angels ?
Yup - 4 would be cool without stressing the layout - nice setup actually - Angels do appreciate similar company, so no worries there ..... and you get the rummies to school which is a nice contrast.

hmm so i was thinking
4 angels
7 rummynose
1 male and 1 female bristlenose pleco
3 GBRs 1 male, 2 female
a few snails
yoyo loachesblue lobster <3
and a parrot fish for my dad, he hearts them :) but im not so sure it can be done with the angels, though i have heard it can be
anf of course, my beautiful redtail dalmation platys im breeding...sadly the fry keep getting eaten by the discus. lol.

so what do you think?

what is the best size to start with?
should i add all other fish before the angels?
and i wanted to do a heavily planted tank, with a variety of plants.
what are some good plants for a 55g for fore, mid, and background?
