I'm getting my 75 set up and running. It has both a Rena XP3 and an Aquaclear 110 running on it for filters. Most people here seem to recommend using two sponges and the normal biomax in the aquaclear filters. This works perfectly with the smaller versions that I have on other tanks. So tonight, I was going to take out the carbon and replace it with foam. Problem is, the darn foam is so huge that the filter basket will not hold two foam sponges and the Bio-max rings.

Question is... How would you run it? With two foams? With one foam and buy another biomax to fill the carbon void? Or just use the current foam, carbon, bio-max setup that it comes with?

The Rena has foam, ceramic rings, and bio-chem stars in it.

Hey Mike,
I just cut one of the filter pads from the rena and placed that in the ac chamber on top of the foam filter. You could make as thick as you want, just make sure you have room for the ammonia remover. Hope this helps.*PEACE!*
