Another newbie Q: Ammonia??

I've gone to 4 different stores to buy ammonia. Every "clear" bottle of ammonia that I've seen has surfactant listed in the ingredient list.

Any suggestions on where to get pure ammonia? I've looked at 3 grocery stores and at Target.

What 3 stores, did you try Walmart? If not you can try at dollar tree or 99cents store

Zona, it's usually the cheapest drugstore/supermarket brands that don't have additives. I believe Walmart usually carries one, if you have a Walmart in your area.

I found some 10% ammonia at a Ace Hardware store.

no, it puts stress on the fish, this way you are guaranteed no casualties.

I don't have an Ace here, and after checking every store in town, I finally found mine at Walmart

Nothing in life is guaranteed, But I get the point!

Ditto on going to an El Cheapo place to find ammonia without sulfactants. I found pure ammonia in a Hanks Thirftway. It's as cheap of a place as it sounds.
