Another Sump Question

What is the best flow rate that I should have in my tank (60G)? I was told at my LFS that we should have 1200 GPH. But thats 20G a min and I am not sure if that is too much. ??? Also how should we drill the holes and how big should the be?? My husband asked if we could do 3 and spread them out on the back of the tank. Is this ok?

what r u using to drill the holes? I would try to get a lfs to drill them for you... and 20X per hour actually isnt all that much, i know wayne runs something like 40X per hour...I run about 30X per hour

The only trouble with 3 along the back is the hassle of 3 separate weirs. I'd probably go for a couple of largish holes in the back centre or a corner sharing a weir.
