Go with the screw-in 10W CF bulbs, and not the incandescents. The florescents will give better color to the tank, and is more white, which will bring the fish colors out better too. You can find them in the fish section at Walmart. Also, the tank appears about 50% brighter as well. At least to me it does.

I agree with lonewolf... those make the tank look a lot better, don't heat up like incandescent bulbs, and screw right into your current fixture :)

If you prefer to stick with incandescent, get the same wattage as the current bulbs.

LonewolfBlue, those are too big. I saw something similar to those at home depot and they are definitely too big to fit under the hood. Thanks for the suggestion though! Im gonna go to Petsmart after school on monday because I called them and they have the Coralife ones.

Absolutely not too big. I have 2 10G planted tanks with those exact bulbs in them, one is a 20W, and the other tank has the 25W bulbs. Now the 10G tank where the whole front opens for feeding, the 25W bulbs are almost too snug to fit in there, but the hood on the 10G with the little trap door on the front, the 25W bulbs fit perfectly. But they do fit in both, one is just a little snug. The 20W bulbs fit in both with no problems.

Here's a pic of the 25W bulb in the 10G hood with the little trap door.
