any hope for tiger barb

had a tiger babrb for 2 years now last few days its been very lethargic swimming on its side fins looking ragged ...i have treated it with general tonic and not really helped .all readings seem fine other fish are fine i have just isolated it as the other barbs were starting to nip at it. any ideas? i can't see it having much longer left at the present time

Hmm, what "general tonic" did you use? Is it eating? Maybe it's old age? Try some other medicine like Para Gaurd, which treats internal and eaternal parasites as well as bacterial and fungal infection.

it was tetra general tonic which deals with--- ragged fins blood stained fins wounds and abrasions inflammations raised scales and protruding eyes..... but it was too late didn't last much longer sunk to bottom of tank so we flushed it at least my other fish are looking ok will keep a close eye on them for the next week or two
