any idea what kinda algea this is?

I've had it in my tank for months and it aint causeing any issues I just wondering what in the world it is cause I don't have any in any of my other tanks. it's like a grey/black fuzz nearly 1/4 inch long. it seems to grow in patches but slowly it got larger untill it spread across pretty much the entire piece of driftwood.

I duon't for sure, but I'm thinking it black hair algae, or what others here call black bearded algae.

Yes, it's black beard algae. If it's just on the wood, you can dip the wood in a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes or so, and it will die off over the course of a week or so.

the stuff aint realy hurting anything so I think I'll just keep it and see what happenes. well as long as it aint putting any kinda threat on my fish that is.
