Anyone use Current USA compact lights???

I'm thinking about buying a Current USA Satellite Dual compact strip light. The one I'm looking at has 2x40w and also includes the lunar light.

I'll be able to go from 2.5 wpg to 5.7 wpg in my 14g planted tank. Best of all it would be in one box, not two like my current set up is.

Drs. F & S have this on sale for about $110 but I noticed that Big Al's has it on sale for the next 13 days for $99.

Give me some feed back, por favor...

Anyone???? What about the Orbit? I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and get the 20" Orbit. Does anyone have any either one of these or know which is better?

I just bought a Satellite single yesterday. It seems OK.

You do need to know that the bulbs are saltwater bulbs, and you'll need to change them out for freshwater ones.

Do I need to swap out the actinic for another dual daylight 6700/10,000?

I'm trying to find a fixture that is 20". Mostly what I find is 24"+. Maybe you can steer me in the right direction if the Satellite system is not the right choice for me.

What about the Coralife 20" 96 Watt Quad Aqualight Compact system? This will bump up my wpg but looks like something I can use. I'll just have to get used to paying $40 for replacement lights....heh

go to tri-city tropical fish and check out their refurbs... I bought mine there and saved about 50% off of what I would have elsewhere. I am also told that if you talk to someone on the phone, you can get the second actinic switched out to a daylight bulb for a couple bucks extra. I love my current USA light.

I saw a link to their site last night on another forum. I checked and they did not have any in stock. Maybe I'll give them a call and see if they get them in on a regular basis. It might be worth my time to wait and see about doing just that...

I called Tri-City last night to see if they had any for sale that were refurbished. I was told that they come in from time to time, but it is sporadic. I guess I could go ahead and buy a new one along with another light and sell the actinic one on ebay.

This is the one I bought a couple of years ago for my 15H tank: Power Compact 20" 2 x 36 Watts They let you choose the bullbs. It has no moonlight, but mine has been working fine.

If you go with the satellite, definitely swap out the actinic for a daylight bulb.
