So far as I know, any Oolitic sand you'll see in LFS' is aragonite. I won't comment as to which is better and the likes... I'm completely Bare Bottom now and loving it .
oolite is the finest sugar sized and will provide the best denitrification at the shallowest depth. I believe a good working bed can be accomplished with oolite at the 3" depth...I like the looks of the sugar sand and most bottom dwellers such as gobies and other sand sifters prefer the smaller grain size. It will also populate with copepods and stuff just as easily as any other sand...... check the following.....
I was hoping to hear answers like that I just bought 240lbs of CaribSea Aragonite sugar sized oolite, I like the look of it better than the stuff that has all the crushed shells mixed in with it
