Well here are my thoughts.

1: Could you fix it, to add your own water back into the tank. I dont trust that It will remove all the toxins from the water.

2: How fast does it remove water from the tank. I know my fish like to swim real close to the siphon. Also, if it takes water out very quickly, you wont have much time to clean up the gravel.

3: How fast does it return water to the tank. If its to much pressure your going to end up destroying your aqua scape.

Overall, it looks quite handy. But I'd be leary of it.

Nothing more than a glorified and expensive filter. (a better filter could be had for cheaper) That just removes the particulate debris from the water, but leaves the nitrItes, which also needs to be removed for a healthy fish tank. There is (unfortunately) no substitute for water changes. You can get a python system for around $50 that does everything you need it too.

I have a python now. It works great...but kind of tough to drain the tank since the spout I used to drain is outside! Frozen solid until spring! There isn't enough water pressure to run it to the upstairs faucet for draining. Refilling isn't a problem. I wasn't interested in the power filter...just curious what people had to say. I knew it was too convenient to be true!

I have it, and used it a couple times on my 75 gallon. I love it. Yes I do water changes every week, but once every 4-6 months I like to do a little gravel cleaning.

If you have any specific questions, go ahead and ask.

Since the python is out to gravel vac right now, if it were me I'd just use a regular gravel vac siphon. $200 is the cost of a nice tank, and while gravel vac with a siphon sure isn't my favorite thing to do, I think I could be bothered to do it for the price difference.
