anyone with experience with those TINY JBJ tanks?

hrm... i have a 2.5 "mini-bowl" or something with a betta in it...
decent tank, but buy at walmart or even petsmart before a local shop.. much cheaper @ a chain.
i'm currently trying to plant mine, but not sure its working. very little pearling except the java fern. i have 4 watts per gallon, HAD c02 until i discontinued use, and havea dded flourish twice. not sure if the size is inhibiting as far as nutrients and c02 go, but mine are pretty much sitting there and it seems the anachris are slowly browning/dying?
i think it might be the substrate since its just plain medium gravel and not a mix of gravel and flourite. I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE!!

i think the plants (esp. the anachris) might have been beyond help from the store, petsmart. it didn't seem very lighted over their plant tanks and very crowded also. i'm sure there were nutrient deficiencies there....
who knows. i'm just hoping it turns around or i get some flourite to spark things up...
