Okay, I purchased a baby male Cacatuoides today,(he is so cute) to go in a small tank with a lonely Scarlet Badis. Well, I got home and realized I got a Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlid, I didn't know it's scientific name is Cacatuoids. . . I'm sooooo excited!! He is going to be so beutiful when he's grown.. Just had to share my excitment!

Thats is what I'm wondering, I don't believe he is a triple red. He is such a baby right now though, I don't think I can tell. But he does have a few orange speckles on his fins so he is probably an orange.

those fish are very nice i have a breeding pair and they are very nice looking fish. oh fishboy try lowering the Ph that should help alot. I was having the same prob. had it a little above 5ph but dropped it under 5 and that seemed to have been the trick.

Under 5 ! - maybe a deal with some of the more obscure apistos but cacatuoides are fine with pH's up to 7.5. It certainly won't stop them eating the eggs. Fishboy - are they still doing that?

Yah, they seem to have stopped laying eggs altogether for a while, i don't know why either. They have eaten every single spawn too; i think i might just give up on breeding them, i dunno. Any ideas?
