Very nice. I wouldn't call me an Apistomaniac but i would really love to grab some 10gals in the very near future to work with them.

Where do you get your original stock from?

Some of my favorite Apisto species are Apistogramma bitaeniata, Apistogramma sp "inka" (or is it "Inca"), Apistogramma panduro, and Apistogramma trifasciata. I would also love to work with the Dicrossus species....mainly Dicrossus filamentosus.

Re to Posts

Hi All Thank You for your compliments. I am very proud of my collection. Yav1n the yellow fish are the females of the apistogramma species in breeding coloration they are very beautiful in their own right. Yea MAHA I too am quite proud of them the pr just spawned here are pics

Cichlid-man I have all 4 of those bitaeniata panduro trifasciata inca the bits are my vavorites. I get most of my stock from other collectors LFSs and aquabid. I am lucky to have a LFS in Austin one of the guys is a apisto collector. 10 gal work good for most apistos useually only prs though trios get a bit crowded od female out gets agressivly persued. Here are pics of my bitaeniata I didn;t get any good ones of my tris the breeder pr died but luckaly they left me with 30+ orphines and incas are reall shy. and a few others.
Sincerely Curtis

Very good ! I bred nine different types befreo retiring to Saltwater, but there's a guy near here who has about 50 species on his tick list - we get a lot of direct imports from S America.

I really enjoyed my eunotus as a fish, and can really recommend that to an apisto beginner. Mine had a more blue body, and better trailers on the fins, but the fin colour on yours is exceptional.

What do you think the misc are? I thought some form ag aggie, but a trifasciata? Have you asked Mike Wise- he is very helpful.

Hi Wayne You lost me on the question as to what I think the (misc) are? Mainly misc not sure what you mean. Are you saying there is a guy who has an order list or his collection is of 50 dif species ? Are they brazilian or peruvian? Brazilian apistos are harder to get ahold of. If it is a supplyer I would love to get his email or webb address. I am looking to find a supplyer so a friend of mine and me can get a hatchery going. BTW thanks for compliments on the eunotus he does have more blue he is shy though and changes from that to what I got pic of. I have some young Cruzi too waiting for them to grow out so I can breed them. I like the eunotus group they are a bit larger apisto my eunotus is about 4 in long. I have a nice steindachnerii pr 2 spawns so far and i am getting this week 8 hippolytae and a pr of gibbiceps. Hope to be getting some elizabethae soon.

Sorry, I meant do you know what epcies the misc are? Did you buy them as misc., or are they just misc. fish you've aquired?
No, I meant there is a guy who lives near me who has bred about 50 different species, who I met when he was trying to get hold of some of the more obscure species (obscure to him was a lot more obscure than for most people). Fortunately we have an lfs locally that imports directly from S America, so at any time it is usually possible to get between 6 to 20 different species by just trawling the local shops.
I also like the eunotus group, and the whitewater species generally. I found keeping the blackwater fish rewarding, but very hard work.

Re To Wayne

Hi Wayne The Misc fish is an album of fish that dosen't fit in with the titles of the other albums. It is mostly Killies. Thanks On the clarifacation. Are you in the United States or across the pond. Reason I ask It is hard to find LFSs here with that much of an assortment. Useually maybe 5 dif species between LFS here more choices on line. I like the white water species too they are more forgiving in attempts to get them to breed blackwater are a bit of work but true they are rewarding. BTW my pertensis spawned night before last about 80+ eggs. A few pics.
