I'm thinking of buying a 36" 96 watts Aqualight freshwater light for my aquarium.
Has anybody ever tried Aqualight? Are they good?
It'll probably cost me about US$100 with bulb and shipping. From the shopping I've done online, that seems to be a very good price for a 96watts. What do you think?
I've been looking too at buying ballasts and building my own DIY lighting.... but the ballasts alone are really expensive!
I've looked at ahsupplies and their 96 watts kit is US$60 + shipping (US$19) + bulb (US$33).... so that's quite a bit more than the Aqualight. Plus I'd have to build it.
Would the price difference be worth it?
And how often do you have to change the bulb?
