I ran across this article and thought it was a pretty cool idea.

I've use my siphoned out water to water plants before, but never thought of doing this. I guess really this is the same as when people grow flowers out of the top of their betta bowl, but thinking about where he mentions growing vegetables on floating rafts in your aquarium just seems so much crazier.

That is pretty cool! I as well have used siphoned out water for my plants! Can you imagine growing veggies on your tank? That'd be hilarious and awesome..

I've thought about maybe growing a flower or something, but I'm not sure I'd want to eat something that grew out of my tank with the chemicals and whatnot that go into the water. I guess its just dechlorinator and ammonia neutralizer, but it still makes me kind of nervous to think about eating it.

I'm using the dirty water from one of my tanks to water my bamboo at work. It gets no natural sunlight, but still grows.

people have been doing this for a while actually, you can grow a wide range of things as well.
