As long as you're not keeping bettas I don't see why this wouldn't be practical. Does anyone know if there's any other fish that needn't be near mirrors?

I have always had mirror back grounds. Sometimes a fish will be fascinated by it for a little while, but if there is room to go other places they will. I have a beta in a 16g with other fish and he hasn't even noticed. Besides they can see there reflection in almost any dark background. I think the problem is when they are in a small couple of gallon type tanks that they feel cornered.
