Guys,

I was wondering if you could tell me where I can buy rocks as seen in the attached image? I really like them and want to add them to my tank!

I have also been thinking about putting in white sand. Do you know if sand will be ok? I have Neons and Corry Cats. If so a UK link to any of these items would be fantastic!

Thanks
Rob!

Hi Rob, any aquarium store in the uk will supply aquarium sand, white sand should be easy to find. If not play sand it just a good to use in the aquarium. The rocks in this image look like old live rock, 'dead'. or old dead corals.
I too am from uk and have sand in my aquarium, i purchased it from where i work, swallows aquatics.

Thanks both for your answers, was expecting some sarcy reply about the photoshopping there haha!

I have heard a garden centre sells white sand up the road, do you think i could just drop that in? Or perhaps ground quartz? My tank is around 1000 x 400 x 110mm. Any ideas how much I will need? Perhaps I might get it online then from a store if it guarantees it is safe!

Thanks
Rob

If you're looking for a VERY white look, go with either pool filter (silica) sand or white aquarium sand. Play sand will give you a more tan look. I had it in a few of my tanks and I can honestly say I much prefer the pool filter sand because it is much whiter.

Excellent, i see there are fake ones that dont change the PH and are a lot lighter, i do worry a bit about weight with it on a wall! haha :p

Tank arriving tomorrow, Got hold of some white sand! Just need some really cool rocks/fake rocks now!

Tank is - 1200x450x15 but will be slightly less as that is the whole thing. 22 litre tank.

:)
