Has anyone had any trouble with water chemical levels after adding an aquatic frog to the tank? It almost seems like the frog is causing an imbalance. He is such a tiny frog but ever since we got him, the water has been off balance. He doesn't bother the fish, and the fish don't bother him, but something doesn't seem right. He is so cute, I would hate to get rid of him. Was he a bad bad choice?

what kind of frog? african clawed frogs get huge and will eat all your fish. african dwarf frogs are fine.

unless the frog is a mutant (he isnt :) ) than the chemical inbalance is because of something else

It may be teensy now, but african clawed frogs start out that way too. That is why they are commonly confused for african dwarf frogs. Does it have three clawed fingers, or four toes? Four toes good, three claws bad. It really shouldn't have any affect on your water. Im guessing that something else is to blame. Did you perhaps add a lot of water that he came in to your tank? Like, the fish store water? It may not have been the best quality water...

the frog

the frog has like four webbed fingers and toes. If that is what I should call them? I think he is ok. The fish tank is just getting yucky looking. Lots of algea. I think its his food pellets maybe causeing the mess.
