I have been reading a lot from all of you guys about plant soil addictives, schultz's, profile, etc. Went on a mission yesterday and found it after some driving around. Went to a home depot - nope. A nursery - nope - a water garden place - nope and the second nursery I went to had it. 10 lb bag for about 10$. Got two. Took up some of the gravel in the 50 gal and tried to place the profile underneath the gravel as best I could without disturbing every bit of gravel in there. Also rinsed the profile first and my tank was only cloudy for less than 1/2 day. What is the best way to add this stuff to an existing tank wihtout disturbing all the bacteria in the gravel? I want to do my second tank soon.
I really hope to start another tank, a 35, and turn my 50 into a turtle paradise. Then I can start the substrates off right and cycle, etc.
