Are these white critters in my tubifex ok?

Often when I buy tubifex worms to feed to my fish they have other things besides tubifex worms in them. They look like flukes or leaches to me. Are they alright to feed to my fish or should I pick them out? I've been feeding live food for quite a while and haven't had any problems yet, but I wanted to get other peoples opinions. What are these things anyway? There are at least two kinds, the white flat elongated football shaped ones and the longer thinner white ones.

Look like leaches to me.

Some fish eat them. I would flush them myself, and not put them in the tank.

I just looked in my one fishbook, and they really look like diskworms, which are not harmful. They say they are light brown, but yours is white. hmmm. I still would not put it in my tank.

I sure hope that those tubifex worms are from a "clean" source. tubifex are usually from really gross ditches etc and carry diseases that can transfer to you fish. I wouldn't feed them to my babies. I prefer to stick to glassworms, bloodworms, krill, and the like.

I agree with luvfishes! I dont feed my fish tubilex worms at all. Id rather not take the chance!
