I like Whispers, all mine have been pretty quiet too. However they seem to wear down and not turn as much water over time while my Aquaclears keep on trucking.

Overall they are decent, i'd buy another if i had to. Mine have all lasted me a long time (though stated above, don't turn as much water as they used to).

Been running whisper 60s on my 55 gallon for almost two years and a 29 for a year. I've been very satisfied with their versatility.

I use a polyester batting for the mechanical filtration on my 29 gallon along with a small penguin for pure bio. On my 55 gallon I use a whisper without any of the inserts but full of biorings.

They are cheap and reliable filters in my experience but I wouldn't use them for more than an auxiliary filter on any tank larger than 29 gallons.

i like whispers. i have three on my 2 10g and my 5g. (i have a filstar canister for my 20g thought) never have given me a problem. they work fine, they're inexpensive. last a few years. haha i dindt have luck with my AC.
