I have a Astatotilapia Aeneocolor in a 20 gallon long tank. When I bought him he had really cool colors. Looked really close to this picture. Anyway, when I had other cichlids in there his color was gone. He was really pale. I bought another one and the two started fighting once in a while and his color came out again. Now he's alone in the tank and he has some of his color back but not all. My question is can this fish repress his colors? It seems like it but I want him to keep his color all time, without him fighting other fish. How do I go about this?
