I have it on the down-low that a couple of local fish stores in Plano have a recently improved and stellar collection of plants for the aquarium in stock! (from yours truly, of course) Be sure to pay them a visit and buy to your heart's content!!

Plano Pets (se corner of Spring Creek and Alma-new location)
Exotic Aquatics (sw corner of Parker and Custer)

Lots of

spiral vals
crypt wendii red
crypt lutea
giant vals
java fern
java fern-wendelov
hornwort

Check 'em out.

Avalon, I think I owe you royalties since my plants have exploded in growth after the arrival of your 4x65W light setup. Thanks again!!

Can you be a little more specific on location? Say from 635 going west into Dallas, what's the closest exit? I am going to Dallas on Tuesday for a meeting and would love to check it out!

Take hwy 75 (it intersects with 635) north 12 miles to Plano. Exit Parker road west to Custer rd (store #1-sw shopping center).
Exotic Aquatics

North on Custer to Spring Creek then east to Alma (store #2-se shopping center). Be sure to buy! Tell 'em where you heard about their store!! Hehe. I can smell 1 more Bosemani Rainbow maybe.

Holy cow Bruckm, I saw you in the store, plano pets, the other day. I overheard you bartering with the owner about plants and store credits, and I heard you mention that you got a new light. That is so crazy!! I actually saw a bunch of your plants today as I went by there this afternoon, the crypts look great.

Anyway, small world, huh. :) Congrats on the plant explosion!!!

DANG DSS!!! Wish we'd known!! Yeah, that was actually pretty funny, the bartering. I've been buying and getting advice from this guy ever since I've had fish. In fact, I got my first fish from him back in late December '03. Whenever I go in he treats me like his best friend even though I rarely buy anything. In fact, it's been 6 months since I bought something there and it was less than $10. He just knows I'll listen to him talk fish. Anyway, I took 6 gallon ziplock bags of plants in to him. His offer was $20.00 store credit for everything. I nearly laughed out loud. I told him there were a lot more plants there than he thought. In the end I got $35.00 in store credit for about 60% of the plants. I took the rest to the other store. I couldn't believe he'd low-ball me like that. Just goes to show you, it's all business! Which I don't really mind but I will go in with a set price in mind next time and not just be grateful that he wants my plants.

Yeah, the Cryps are HUGE. My wife's cousin (member of DFW Aquatic Plant Society) says I have a knack for them. Don't really know what that knack is... but they do VERY well for me somehow, except in my 10G. They look like crap in there. Not one is doing well. Wonder if its the 2x20W bulbs? Too much light?

Balloon: Don't despair; San Antonio is heaven on earth. If I wasn't from Dallas and didn't love everything about it I'd live in San Antonio. It is a beautiful city and of course has our shrine...the Alamo.

Plano is about 10 Miles north of Dallas, but not on the I35 side, that takes you to Denton. NNE of Dallas.
