I finally found some! (Not to imply that Stumpy had babies, he is a male and was the only hoplo catfish in the tank. That would be really cool though). They are so tiny :D... about two inches long, but the smaller one is approximately as thick as a (normal) kuhli loach. The bigger one is closer to the thickness of my obese kuhli.

They discovered my kuhli loach cave, and have taken up part-time residence there... with the effect that the kuhli loaches are out and about a lot more now. I'm not sure Stumpy really realizes that they're hoplos... they're a little smaller than my cories, and don't hang out with Stumpy yet (hopefully they will when they grow a bit). They do hang out together most of the time though. Now that tank is even more overstocked... oh well, anything for baby Stumpies :D. Guess that means I'll be on the lookout for a good size tank for cheap over the summer...

Yay for me, that's the second time I've ever seen them in stores (the first time was when I got Stumpy). I'm not sure why they aren't more popular... they're peaceful, friendly, interesting, not real expensive (these were $7, and I don't think I paid even that much for Stumpy as a baby), and medium sized.

They're like cories... they're social. I think it's more of a shoal than a school. They seem to shoal with each other and the cories more than Stumpy so far.
